Algorithm of Universe

Just like gravity, light, air etc., there is another force that exists but not visible to the naked eye. It's the Algorithm of the Universe, that is beyond the action-reaction and cause-effect theories. It is also beyond the ‘smoking causes cancer’ rider or the ‘don’t drink and drive’ caution. We experience such metaphysical force distinctly from the material objects, but it is not visible to the naked eye. All the happenings that we see and experience are due to some reason or other, but we fail to apprehend the original cause of such an outcome and quickly conclude that it is ‘fate’. Treating it as an abstract is the study of the nature, causes or principles of reality, knowledge or values, based on logical reasoning which leads to beliefs that such results are not because of our actions but is due to a mystical force. Not being able to comprehend the existence of the simple formulated algorithm draws us to believe in fate, hence we search for remedies during adversity to thwart or alleviate its further intensity. Ironically, we travel in a completely different direction to avoid the retrograded result instead of identifying and correcting the cause. Fate is not mystical but only a sum of one’s actions.

We are prompted and compelled to perform several acts as part of our daily routine and those that we need to perform for the sake of professional and domestic duties. Certain actions result in a situation that provokes an additional act and if such additional acts are selfless, they might leave us deprived of material pleasure at that point in time; but remarkably, those sacrifices reap rich benefits over a period of time. It is like (a+b)² or the (a+b)³ similar to stocks going bullish. On the flip-side, if such an act is self-centred for personal enrichment and if it defeats the interest of another person, then it could boomerang over a span of time either with severe intensity or with a mild effect, which is something like √10 when the accumulated stocks go bearish and values decimate. In the case of an offence or harm by one person to another, it is usually followed by revenge, but both the offence that is not vindicated as well as the act of revenge are followed by an invisible backlash, with certain variations. It can turn to be a ‘curse’, like the minus (−) or square root (√) equation. Likewise, a good deed is followed by a ‘blessing’ similar to a plus (+) or multiplication (x), which enriches or even nullifies or reduces the intensity of any forthcoming curse.

Selfishness is also an act, so is inertness, for they do result in an outcome where the helpless grieve that the friend, relative, or the onlooker had not given a helping hand, and the unconsoled sadness in the mind of the person that he or she could not overcome the adverse situation on his own accord triggers the formula to set in motion. "Selfishness is the greatest curse of the human race," said William Ewart Gladstone who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom for 12 years, spread over four terms beginning in 1868 and ending in 1894. In real life, the distribution of wealth without disparity is not just charity but also proved to reduce the intensity of any unforeseen residual backlash of fate.

In ancient India, the Kings performed ‘yagna’ to please the Gods, for copious rains, sumptuous harvest of food grains and welfare of all the subjects in the kingdom along with the Ruler and his family who participate in the ritual. The Yagna concludes with the Ruler distributing alms to the martyrs, poor, artisans, learned, industrious, etc., without ignoring a single subject in his kingdom. The Rulers believed that such an act could ward off evil effects, resulting especially from wars where many innocent are martyred. The distribution of wealth after performing Yagna has no limit and it is said that pious kings such as Yuddishtara became bankrupt several times without any coffers left in the treasury, and so did Bali Chakravarthi, the grandson of King Prahlada. This parampara or traditional Indian custom of giving away wealth as a donation and charity to the society, in general, was followed by Bharata Ratna JRD Tata and even today by Ratan Tata, Azim Premji, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, etc., who are the today’s equals of yesteryear Kings in wealth, indulging in charity to rescue the destitute in a crisis or for the welfare of the downtrodden with their mammoth donations. Warren Buffet ensures that his neighbourhood benefits from his investments too.

In the late eighties, after having partitioned with the share in the joint property, I began to lose control of it, when it started eroding, and in the process, I did everything to save from the situation other than to do the right thing. I moved to a new residence with a better ‘Vastu’, a traditional Indian system of architecture, but nothing changed. There were also many other unscientific measures that I had resorted to but still the downward journey neither halted, nor changed course. Even though my cause was never vicious or selfish, the war I had waged with my uncle was definitely a breach of trust and sanctity that prevailed in the joint family for three generations. It was no doubt a retaliation against my uncle to the allegations and insults that he had alleged against me not caring that it would demoralise me and lead to extreme measures. The faults were evidently from both sides. Both of us had certain virtue in our favour, but my uncle’s earlier sacrifices for the joint family redeemed him from further pain with his sudden departure. In my case, even though I had parted thereafter with a reasonable sum, everything evaporated within a short period; only to prove I did not deserve for having breached the trust. The equation that could give me positive (+) results turned to negative (-) at the end. I regained my ground only after a prolonged introspection added with unwavering grit over a period of 15 years to survive. I realised that it was the thoughts of realisation that toned down the curse; an extension of the formula with added virtue.

The Algorithm works on the thoughts of the human being also. Not just for being selfish or being inert, but vicious or ambitious thoughts too have their workings to the formulae of either benefit or even disaster. Fickle is the human mind, with unlimited thoughts, going beyond imagination which many a time is bereft of any discipline or even morals. I once heard a story during the discourses rendered by my Guru. “Once upon a time, long ago, a traveller after a long journey on foot, looked for a shade and sat down under a tree. Incidentally, the tree happened to be a ‘miracle tree’ in the midst of the jungle to grant the wishes of the travellers, but the traveller had no clue about it. All he wanted was was to rest his aching feet. He was thirsty and hungry as well. Having no knowledge of the miracles of the tree while he rested under its cool shade, he wished “Gosh, I wish I could find some water to quench my thirst,’ and to his surprise, a pot full of fresh water appeared next to him. Immediately he gulped the water which felt like elixir. Then, his mind continued, “If only I had a delicious meal, I will have enough energy and strength to walk the rest of the journey.” Then suddenly, a large plate with a variety of dishes appeared before him. The traveller was amazed. Without reasoning the miracle that just happened, he indulged in savouring the tasty meal. After having filled his belly, he wished there was a comfortable bed to rest for a while and then resume his journey; and in a second a comfortable bed appeared. The traveller was shocked. He plunged on the bed which was a heavenly luxury as his body was pampered with the soft touch and comfort of the bed. Then the traveller got curious and he realised that the miracles were no doubt bestowed by the extraordinary tree that could read his thoughts. Then he got a little more ambitious and wished in his mind, “I wish a beautiful lady appear now to massage my painful feet while I rest”. A lady appeared and pleasingly placed the traveller’s paining feet in her lap and started to press them with a smile even before the traveller concluded his thought. The traveller was now definite of the extraordinary powers of the tree and its miracles, and he rested enjoying the regal comfort that he never experienced or heard of, especially in the wild. He felt like a King with the comforts in the midst of the jungle. Suddenly, the thought of the jungle sent a fear signal in his mind, and he thought, “What if a tiger appeared now?” At that very moment, a huge Tiger appeared and pounced on the traveller; the cat’s powerful jaws made no mistake in piercing its canine deep into the neck of the traveller to have his last breath and shut down further thoughts from his brain.

Mother Nature designed an algorithm in the form of a strong and robust tenet which acts not only on those who have committed offences but also on others who have avenged those offenders on their own preemptively even before nature applies its formulae. That’s exactly what I too had experienced in the eighties when I waged a war with my uncle to prove my virtue which would have anyhow manifested over a period of time. I did not have the patience for the Algorithm to work, hence the tables turned with a new formulation. The universally applicable rule does not make way to even those who are good, saintly or even if the Creator himself manifests on Earth as an Avatar in human form. The Law of Nature treats all as equals, without any exceptions, neither it gets amended from time to time. None can repeal it including the Master who had set the formula in motion. That is the best example of ‘unbiased judgement’ which rarely manifests in the Human world. Curses and Blessings are part of Nature. This universal law can neither be repealed nor amended. To cheat the results of our actions is as impossible as cracking the equation of ‘2x2’ to any other result than ‘4’.

Nature's Algorithm reminds me a quote that "Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads".

As we move through life, the force of fate creates events that we only appreciate when we reflect on our existence and each player must accept the cards life deals with him.

Very interesting truth of the *nature* brought forward. In fact its applicable to each and everyone either individually, jointly or collaboratively. Why can't this pandemic also be taken as yet another example. While it is devastating millions at the same time its blessings in disguise to few others. Isn't this astonishing.

Relating the nature on to *me*, this aspect of your writing is like icing on the cake. How many of we do that? It's a million dollor question. Nature bestow on us in many ways, through our *children, surroundings, businesses, health, peace, what not?* Greatness lies in realizing it. Beautiful. Though it's a known fact, yet it's an eye opener.

Such short episodes goes miles ahead. Thanks Prem garu.
